Full Time Result — Broomfield AFC 4-1 Airdrie Albion A well balanced battle for the first stage of the game today with the wet conditions at Riverbank, a few chances not taken on our behalf early doors amidst seeing most of the possession. Finally the breakthrough came when a switch of play saw young Jack control the ball well in the area before cutting back for Kieran McKenna to fire home. Albion reduced to little chances amidst superb save from Kieran McDougall from a cutback shot. Albion were then reduced to 10 men on the 40 mark. Before capitalising on the counter from a long clearance to equal the scoring prior to half time. — HT 1-1 Broomy piling on the pressure for majority of the 2nd half where Albion remained compact into their own box looking for counters, another number of chances going unpunished on our behalf. A couple of subs made & we finally got back in front after superb wing play from returning sub Lewis Todd found Kieran again to fire in his 2nd. Game began to open up with Albion beginning to tire, Toddy yet again providing this time finding Jack Lafferty to fire home hopefully his first of many this season. A couple of minutes later a ball starting at our keepers feet began a passage of play around the opposition before Kevin McGuigan delivered for Ewan McGuinness to finish brilliantly to seal the win. A good gritted performance from everyone, fitness levels showing well & a variety of goals fired in. We have a free week next however will be raring to go again once we return to league action.
